We went camping last weekend down at Big Basin and had a great time at this excellent park. Ava is definitely a huge fan of camping, getting dirty, climbing giant redwood trees, playing soccer around the camp site and sleeping in a tent. She toasted her first marsh mellow and decided (obviously) that she likes those too. The youngest and coolest park rangers I've ever seen had good times planned for little campers with singing, story time in dark redwood tree circles and puppet making. Ava keeps talking about fungus, bacteria and invertebrates thanks to them.
On another note, Dad forgot to pack the tent polls, Mom forgot to pack dinner... but we rolled with it. That's what camping is all about. Hopefully we'll get another trip in before summer is over.
Filth, filth and more filth... perfect!
Hiking the quiet, sleep inducing redwoods... going... going...
