School Days

I've been meaning to post some pictures of Ava at her preschool since it has been a big part of her life over the past few months. She has transitioned to her 3 days a week very well and is really excited to see her little friends and teachers. She always has stories to tell us about her day, new songs to sing and a cubby full of art work to bring home. It's such a rich environment for Ava to learn and explore that she has really taken off and we're so happy she's getting this experience.

They have had quite a few events and field trips this fall. Today was their Halloween celebration. They had special snacks of "orange pasta with black olive eyeballs".

All the kids got dressed in their costumes for a parade in the courtyard, singing and trick-or-treating to all the different classrooms. Ava was the only pirate out of lots of kitties, knights and fairies.

She came home with a bag full of booty to go through, stickers, raisins, whistles, pencils.... she was very excited. Can you tell?

Here is the whole school and a host of parents and teachers watching the show.

A few weeks ago they walked to a very generous couple's house in the neighborhood who offers their garden up to the school as a pumpkin patch each year. They got to have hot apple cider, explore the garden and pick out their own pumpkins.

A fieldtrip to the children's museum to learn from their new exhibit on emergencies and earthquakes. Plus, just lots of good play time.

Some transportation talk with her teacher. Ava loves train tables.

Lots of singing and signing fun too!
