The Girls

Here are a few recent photos of the girls.

I love how Ava's tu-tu is a little halo above Erik's head. Actually that was my tu-tu when I was little. I'm not quite sure why we have fences with our neighbors since the kids are always climbing and yelling over them. Yes, we're lucky we've got so many great families in the 'hood. You'll find us hanging out in front of our houses in the evening after work, swapping baked goods or enjoying a glass of wine at an impromptu bbq as the kids run around like we did tonight.

Ava get's into a girly mood every once in a while where she likes to dress up, dance and skip around. But we haven't hit the super girly phase yet where she only wants to wear dresses and play princess. I've heard most girls go through it - maybe she wont. But I'm savoring the time now where she's just happy to go with the flow and follow what suits her. The other day she told me she wanted to be a firefighter, a tree trimmer or a fairy when she grows up.

Then there's this goofy little girl who we're still learning about. Eat, sleep, grow and thrive with lots of grunting, growling and spitting up in between.

She's making lots of new noises and squirming all about more and more.

And then there are our absolute favorites, the smiles... Ah, who can resist baby smiles.

Oh, and baby toes. Ava nibbles these daily.
