A Park Day

We headed out to Golden Gate Park today - some days we just really miss SF (or maybe just the burritos). We often need to remind ourselves that we're an urban family in an amazing corner of the world. There are a lot of remarkable places and experiences right outside our door that we can share with our girls. It's a rare occasion when you have short sleeve weather out in the city so we jumped at the chance. Ava loved the muggy Conservatory of Flowers with all their carnivorous plants. The gardens outside were all in bloom and it was quite beautiful.

There is an amazing kids park out there too, supposedly the oldest in the nation. City kids really make their parks count with some cool ones. There was a middle school aged kid there earning a small fortune making balloon animals, brilliant. Ava used hers as not only a flower but a sword, pretending to be a "princess knight".

Ah, the unpredictable fun of water...

...and the exhilarating whirl of the carousel.

Tired parents, tired girls, a happy adventure.
