The Other Jane

Ava had one more exciting visitor over the weekend. What little girl doesn't love a visit from her grandma. Someone to help take teddy bears for walks, sing new songs, pick you up when your scared and clean you up after you drink and spill a bottle of fish-sauce down your shirt (yeah we let grandma take care of those kinds of things). Once a mom, always a mom, right.

Ava has just mastered saying her name and sometime it's Ava, Ava Jane or just Jane. So saying Nanny Jane came quite easily and surprisingly wasn't confusing to her. She got a lot of practice in.

We took her to the pumpkin patch for a good dose of Fall fun. Boy did she enjoy herself. Ava gasped and pointed with delight at all the pumpkins. She was quite upset about the pumpkins that weren't sitting upright, exclaiming "uh-oh" until we fixed them for her. When we carved her pumpkin all she could say was "broken" with each piece that came out of that poor pumpkin. Ava doesn't approve of pumpkin carving.

Besides scratching around in the hay, watching the train, righting pumpkins and feeding the goats, Ava had the most fun in this giant lima bean pool. Can we get one of those for our backyard? We were picking beans out of her for quite awhile but it was well worth it.

Ava is already waiting for her next visit!
