I don't think I've ever shared Ava's fascination with painting. It's something we do often but in short increments. She likes to either paint at her easel or at the table and always insists on using her art smock. She loves to paint with brown (Mommy tries really hard not to sway her towards "prettier" colors - I can't help it). She primarily paints horizontal and vertical lines, not too big on the circles. But her absolute favorite is painting her hands. Every painting session always comes down to her fixation and adoration of her own hands. She patiently spends more time painting her hands than she does the paper, working on the details and getting every spot just perfectly. A little here, a dab of this there.... then BAM, smack onto the paper! Squishes her hand all around and does it over again. We'll see how the technique evolves... with Mommy quietly watching and minding my own business.
