Weekend Getaway

This weekend Mommy and Daddy snuck away for a night at the Cavallo Point Lodge at Fort Baker in Sausalito. Ava stayed home with Auntie Lea and Cousin Olivia for a girls night which she was thoroughly excited about.

It couldn't have been a more beautiful Bay Area weekend so we were quite lucky already. We started by forgetting our camera at home which wasn't a bad thing. We're trying to "unplug" ourselves more these days anyways. The view from our balcony of the bridge, bay and historic restored military grounds was amazing. It made walking the grounds, soaking up the sights and indulging in their spa quite easy. While it's fun to escape for rejuvenation with "the good life" it's always better to be at home with our Munchkin.

We savored a multi course meal at their Michelin star restaurant, Murray Circle which is all local, seasonal and organic, not to mention simply amazing. As we sat for 2 hours enjoying our meal we tried to remember the last time in 3 years that it actually took us that long to even shop for, cook and eat a meal in that much time. I only wish I could have savored the wine too. We've certainly traded our fast paced SF city life of 10 years ago for our fast paced life as parents now. And we're anticipating and welcoming the start of the adventure next month as Apple joins us.

This is the outside of the restaurant back in the day.

And here are the colonial revival buildings. Amazing to see such a grand restoration in a national park.
