Ava was ecstatic all week anticipating the trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house. The tree swing was high on her list of things to do. We really have a thrill seeker on our hands.
Cousin Elijah surprised her by making the coolest fairy fort. I think if we'd had more time she would have stayed out there for days.
The oldest grandchild Paris with her new wee cousin Hazel.
Hazel will be more impressed with the Grandma and Grandpa's yard next time around.
Feeding the ducks at Lindo Lake with Grandma.
Touring a dairy farm on a hay ride. Yup, this is where your milk comes from kiddo...
Ah, Grandma!!
We took Ava (and Hazel for that matter) to her first movie. We thought it would be pretty cool if it was at the drive in near Erik's home town. We set up camp with the Gutkowski crew and saw Legend of the Guardians. About 20 minutes in the charm was already gone for the grown ups but the kids had a great time. Ava finally called it quits and curled up in her lawn chair with a blanket and a full tummy of popcorn around 10. In the morning she promptly asked if we could go again that night.
We hit the beach with the Gutkowskis. Ava can't get enough of Jasper and Annalise, and we love seeing how well these guys play together. They were on task all afternoon building a pool only to have it washed away by the tide.
Phew, that was one tired little Chickpea.
We headed to Stelzer Park for a stroll on a strangely rainy afternoon. Ava got to climb in this giant oak tree.
There is a reason we call her "Danger Jane". She'll happily climb, jump and run to tackle any obstacle with confidence. We're pretty grateful for a surefooted child with a brave little spirit. I can hardly think of anything that she has been afraid of.
Grandpa and Daddy had her climbing a good 6-7' up and then jumping off into their arms. Pure adrenalin and delight for that kid. But a mother who doesn't do well with heights can only watch so much.
Thanks again for a great visit with lots of memories Grandma and Grandpa. We'll be back!
