Miss Hazy Daisy

I know, isn't she gorgeous. Our little Hazel grows more charming every day and I can't imaging our family without her anymore. She's nearly 7 months old and we learn more about her personality all the time. It's hard not to compare your kids but they are truly unique and Hazel reminds me every day I share with her that she is her own evolving tiny person.

She reminds us not to take for granted how mellow she by growling at us, usually at the dinner table. It seems to be her way of announcing her presence as a full fledged member of the family. One of her nicknames is Growl Bear after a book we have about a bear who doesn't know how to do anything but growl. She also likes to chatter and sing to us quite a bit. 5am isn't usually the most adorable time but we know her sweet little voice is warming up for words. In all honesty I enjoy the quietness of her baby coos. I love Ava's curiosity and quest for information. These days it seems that every statement out of my mouth is always followed by a "why Mommy?" The quiet observed learning of a little babe is a nice change of pace.

Hazel has 2 little chompers she received around Christmas time. I suspect that she's working on the next set soon. She has clammy little baby hands that really delight in pulling hair, particularly Ava's. And her big sister is eagerly awaiting the moment she grows out of that but will happily take the risk of having a chunk of hair pulled out for the sake of a hug.

Besides her animated little face we have all decided on our favorite bits of Hazel. Ava loves the squishy spot on the back of her neck, Daddy her forearms and Mama those chunky little thighs. Who doesn't just love to squeeze a baby.

Best of all Hazy just loves to hang out and explore this family that she has chosen and we're so thankful she is here.
