He got to take Ava to her gymnastics class which she loves. Ava is a really physical kid and is very rarely deterred from a physical challenge. I'm not just a beaming parent here but she has excellent balance and coordination for someone her age. And there is a reason we call her "Danger Jane". So it looks like her coach is bumping her up to the next class. This really just means that Mommy and Daddy have to watch from the sidelines, bittersweet.
Ava slowly strips down to her leotard no matter how cold the gym is. We're not at the princess phase by any means but the girl loves running around in her girly get-up and wearing pigtails to class.
Since it was such a beautiful weekend we headed out to the lake for a little splashing and digging.
Daddy caught a duckling for Ava. He's always trying to catch one at the park. You'll never take the boy who grew up with ducks out of the man. Poor little thing learned a lesson - reminded me of Make Way for Ducklings which we read often.
Then there was the squirt gun Daddy got for Ava and she quickly mastered it. Why is it grownups really don't like to be squirted at all. That's what little sisters are for.
Would you get a look at that belly! Only 8 more weeks and counting. Baby Apple is definitely another little gymnast too. Ava asked me the other morning if Apple was going to live with us forever. She's so excited to take care of her little sister and play with her.
A celebratory dinner for Uncle Chris' birthday at T-rex. Two dinosaurs here guarding their ribs and mac n' cheese. Ava loves to play dino and let out her fiercest roar.
Uncle Chris and I volunteered to take Ava's preschool on their monthly visit to the library. Here is her little class chomping on their snack after the bus ride. It's a little intense to rally so many kids in an urban setting but they love getting out and the teachers really appreciate all the help. A few weeks ago they went to visit newly hatched baby chicks at her teacher's house and in a few weeks they are going to a dance and movement studio.
Thanks Chris, we loved seeing you. Next time we need to have Auntie Sara come.
